Gerhard Berg (born 1927) is one of the most prominent Norwegian designers and interior architects of the post–war era. He has designed for several of the country's best furniture makers, especially in the golden age of Norwegian furniture design in the 1950s / 60s. Berg also distinguished himself in the United States when in 1959 when he began working with Mathew Cooper, who promoted Berg's designs in his store Furniture International on Fifth avenue in New York.

This lovely lounger for LK Hjelle is a classic example of Gerhard Berg's design aesthetic. Clean lines combined with an organic, sculpted form create a lounger that is elegant and also comfortable and inviting. The splayed teak frame is adds warmth to the design and the generous proportions make it perfect for modern living. It's the ideal addition for any contemporary home.
